SESSION 9: Moorings and Anchors: Deepwater and Shallow Water
September 9, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 2:50 pm EDT
Mooring systems are key to the success of floating wind, and conventional steel chain technologies are being challenged by larger turbines, supply chains are challenged by the scale of commercial floating farms, and mooring systems create unique impacts on fisheries. What solutions are being developed for both shallow east coast waters and deeper west coast waters? What impact do mooring systems and water depth have on commercial viability?
Moderator: Leo Bello, Vryhof
