At NREL, Garrett Barter leads the Wind Systems Engineering research program, with a particular emphasis on offshore, systems-focused solutions. In this capacity, Garrett oversees development on the Wind-Plant Integrated System Design and Engineering Model (WISDEM). His expertise is in computational methods, techno-economic analysis, and design optimization. Prior to joining NREL, Garrett worked at Ball Aerospace and Sandia National Laboratories. In these roles, Garrett has engaged in broad systems analysis studies across many disciplines for the Departments of Homeland Security, Defense, and Energy.
